Don't forget Force diagrams show FORCE not motion!! =)

Hi kiddos, sooo this week in science class we had a test and started a new topic, dadurrundurda: FORCE!!! XD

Mon. We did some review problems before the test.

Tues: Test...
Wed: We started FORCE!!!! Okay sooo here are my notes:

Sooo we drew a picture of someone holding up a basket ball and a bowling ball. The bowling ball pushed down on your hand more than a basket ball does. SO you draw a dot which represents the ball and then an arrow form the dot going up. That is the force of your hand on the ball 'cause your trying to lift it up. Then draw a downwards arrow from the dot and that is the earth's force on the ball. Since there is no way to explain gravity we are just saying earth since you can see the earth. The arrows should be equal since you are holding up the ball and its not floating upwards or downwards... Does that make sense o.0...

Then we did an equation about it. Let's say you are pushing up 24N (N=Newtons which is just a measurement of Force.) and the earth is pushing down -24N (It is negative since the earth is pushing in an opposite direction. =)) Soooo 24N + -24N= 0N Yay,... Yeah we just did more problems like that too...

Thurs: Kay then we did harder problems like:
You and your friend hold up a suitcase soooo F (force) you + F Friend + F earth

The earth is pulling at 8 N

You and your friend have to equal 8N

sooooo : 4N + 4N + -8N = 0N

To draw a diagram of this you would just stack you and your friend's Force arrows on top of each other and have the sum equal to the earth's Force.

Here's a key thing to remember: What can exert Force?

Answer: Objects

We also did a Force problem that was unbalanced. U push a box. Your force is unbalanced because the box is moving.
Friday: We pushed Mr. Finley's car!! YAY!! XD Sooo we all pushed it then let go and it gradually decreased speed. The Force of us on the car gradually decreased when we let go. Our Homework for the weekend is to do some problems and blog btw.
Why is this important stuff to know? If you want to be a physicist.

Yup that's it!!! XD
