HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! YAY A WHOLE NEW DECADE!!!! ~2010~! XD
Hiya folks!!! Alright soooo for this week I was sick alot so I don't hav that much info. Anyway we started a new unit on the MOON!!!!! Whoop Whoop!!! I luv da Moon <3
Mon: We didn't really do much except talk about what we already new about the Moon and why. We then looked at a Moon simulation online and talked about what new words we came across... Exp. Gibbous, First Quarter... etc...
Tues: Sick -.-
Wed: Sick T_T
Thurs: Umm I came back and had new clue what people were talking about so I checked out the simulation again and I think this is what people were talking about:
Waning: Getting darker I remember it by like waning on the verge of death... kinda a gothic and idk it works for me ^.^ The left side of the Moon is lit up.
Waxing: Getting brighter; when u wax da floor you make it brighter/shinier; the right side of the Moon is lit up.
Gibbous: Three thirds bright .
First/Third Quarter: Quarter lit up. That would be half lit up to us but you half to remember there is another side of the moon to that we never see. (If that makes sense... T_T)
Full: Okay if u don't know this a RANDOM herd of GIANT SQUID WILL ATTACK YOU!!!
New Moon: Well I didn't know this sooo giant squid time for me... -.- If u want to join me in being pumpled then its when the moon is completely dark... Yay for followers!!! XD
We also did a packet online.
Fri: We went over the packet...

We also tired to do a ping pong experiment with static but failed 'cause it was snowing outside... We drew force diagrams on the Sun and Moon's pull on the Earth. We concluded that even though the Sun is bigger the Moon pulls more because of how close it is.
Our H.W. is to research tide names and not just high and low tide.
Yup.
