Inner planets are solid terrestrial planets.
Outer planets are gas planets
They are separated by the asteroid belt and orbit the Sun.
The Moon has
Crater: a hole made by meteorite
Rays: The spray of a meteor
Rills: long channels of lava that collapsed after the lava disappeared
Maria: Large low lying areas like an ocean basin (dark areas)
Mountains
Lunar Highlands are the light part and have the highest elevation.
Near side/ Far side We see the Near side and never the far side.
The simulation on orbits helped me with the Orbits of planets 'cause I got to experiment and try getting the planet to orbit myself
Needs perpendicular velocity
Faraway- a little velocity
Closer- a lot
Too large and it will "fly away" also called "escape velocity
Comets- made of ice, gas, n dust
travel slowly
left over solar system particles
Meteoroids- smaller than asteroids and rare
Orbit Sun outside of our atmosphere
Meteors-
Made of stone and metal burn up when entering atmosphere
Meteorites- meteor that crashed into Earth/ Moon
Metal
Asteroid- Rocky blob Orbits Sun and is smaller than planets, but larger than meteoroids
