Yo peoplez!!! =) Waz up? Wahoooo!!! It's February!! Yippee!!! =) This week was kinda short. Let's see we went over H.W., talked about mitosis and took a quiz. =)
Monday: On Monday we broke of into groups and talked about the other side of the Mitosis review sheet. (The first side we did for H.W. over the weekend. =))
Okay so heres what I got: It's okay if you got different answers my answers might be wrong. =)
For the label the pictures part Carly, Justina, and I thought that going across the top part was Interphase, Metaphase, Anaphase, Prphase, and Telophase.
Create a conection between the two terms:
1. DNA and Chromosomes.
DNA makes up Chromosomes.
2.Mitosis and cytokinesis.
cytokinesis is a stage of mitosis.
3.Prophase and metaphase.
In Prophase and metaphase chromosomes are formed.
4.Interphase and chromosomes.
In Interohase DNA is replicated and DNA is a part of Chromosomes.
5. Centromeres and Chromatids.
Centromeres hold together chromatids.
6.Chromatids and chromosomes.
Chromatids are smaller and a half of chromosomes.
7. Centriole and spindle fibers.
Centrioles form spindle fibers.
8. RNA and DNA.
RNA is a one-stranded copy of DNA. (RNA has uracil)
Tuesday: I missed science class for a very um intresting clarinet lesson. LOL!!!!!!! HAHAHAHA!!!! =)
Here are the notes that I got from Justina:
Karyotype is a picture of your cells
curls up and turns into sister chromatids
2 chromatids=1 chromosome
Mitosis happens fast
the centriole moves alot during late prophase
spindle fibers get pushed in center
Wednesday: We had a snow day!!!!!! WAHOOOO!!! YAHOOOO!!!! YAY!!!!! The brave beetles fought and won a BRILLIANT war!!! =)
Thursday: Okay on Thursdaywe took some notes:
Interphase: is where a parent cell gets ready for cell reproduction. Interphase is not actually part of Mitosis.
Prophase: is when the centrosome splits into centrioles. The centrioles produce spindle fibers.
During Metaphase: The spindle fibers connect to the centromere. Some people in my class pretended to pull one person into place. The person being pulled into place was the chromosome I think.
Anaphase: The chromosomes are pulled to separate sides of the cell by spindle fibers.
Telophase: In telophase form back to chromaid, centrioles go back to centrosomes, two daughter cells are formed and the spindle fibers disintegrate.
Then we had to make a concept map for H.W. to help study for the quiz the next day.
Friday: On Friday we went over our concept maps in class.
It's kinda confusing for me to explain but I'll try. Sorry if i confuse anyone. =)
Interphase happens before Mitosis, prophase is the first stage of Mitosis, in prophase spindle fibers are produced. Centrosomes split into centrioles, in Interphase DNA is replicated, chromosomes are organised DNA, a chromatin is a piece of DNA I think, two chromatids make up a chromosome. I think that's it. =)
After the concept map we took a quiz. And that's our week. =)
