Science Class week of 5/11/09

Monday- More evolution stuff about evolution yup... (If that made ANY sense...LOL=))
K sooo we.. wow I got a lot done...LOL =) Okay soooo finishing it: Soooo on Monday we went over all the things we learned last week. We talked about how if a population goes up the predator pop. is down. We also discussed max capacity limits which are the limit at which an environment can support a species. ex. resources like food and water, or shelter(habitat) =)





We also talked about how deer are a fringe species. (meaning they live in between fields and forests.=)) We expanded their capacity limit by cutting down trees and grown lawns. We also got rid of predators like wolves and coyotes. =( poor wolvies!! So we see tons of deers. In order to contradict this problem we have hunting seasons...run deerys RUN!!!! =(





P.S. sorry if I'm wrong about the dates of what we did...I forgot to date my notes -_-





Tues? Um... I think this the day we talked about sex differences? Anyway we talked about how in some species a certain gender will have an important attribute. Ex. Cardinals: the male cardinals will be bright red to impress the ladies, while the females will be brown. Or like how stags will have antlers to wrestle with each other so the strongest stag gets the deer. Or peacocks...u get thee idea!!! =)
