Hola!!!!! Okay so this week we did more on the documentary and classification projects. We also watched some videos and talked about evolution.
Mon- MEMORIAL DAY!!!! I killed a few people in badminton but... LOL!! Stole so candy while marching LOL!!!
Tues- Okay so that was like the first time I had science for quite a while...(previous blog...LOL =)) Anyway: I basically was put in the doc. group and took notes on vids and exhibits. http://www.becominghuman.org/
Wed- That day I started classification. I was in a group with Dan, Mickey, and Jason working on it. So they came up with a lot of good ideas and groups. First our groups were Micro vs. Macro and then it was fungi, multi cell animals, multi cell plants, eukaryotic single cell, and Prokaryotic single cell. When we checked it they were all right on the mark. =)
Thurs- We talked about who Carolus Linnaeus was and Binomial Nomenclature with the whole class. We went over all the notes and found out Carolus Linnaeus is really Carl Linne. But he was such a funky guy he thought he should have a Latin name too. LOL =) He was basically a Swedish Zoologist, physian, and botanist who created the idea of Binomial Nomenclature. (Go Sweds!!!!=))
Fri-WE whatched vids. on religon vs. science and took notes. We also reviewed the food web and chain. If you look at the energy pyramid from early in the year you'll see they are alike. Okay, so it was about decomposers- break down dead things- which leaves nutruients in the soil for plants- also get enrgy from the sun- which animals eat (herbivore/omnivore =))- which other animals eat(omnivore/ carnivore =))- that die and get decomposed.
