This is some examples of the normal line... Light bends toward the normal line when it goes into a more dense object, and away when it goes to a less dense object. =)
Hey everybody! Alright so the big gigantic Light Test will be on Monday! This week we went over what we learned with light in preparation for the test. T_T
What did we learn in Science class this week? 0.o?
Mon: We talked about the normal line and discussed how light waves slow down when they pass through a more dense material than air. The normal line is where light meets a more dense object than air! XD
Tues:We started a carnival about light and went to different stations to work on different work sheets. Fun times!!! LOL XD
Wed: We did more worksheets on light and they are on the online science page. Yup! =)
Thurs: We talked about the difference between opaque, transparent and translucent:
Opaque: no light can pass through the object; it just reflects
Transparent: Light passes through it and refracts
Translucent: Light goes through it but some light doesn't. Both refracts and reflects.
Translucent is in betwwen Opaque and Transparent.
Then we reviewed how we see objects: The light bouncing off the image goes into a hole in our eye and appears on the back of the eye as upside down. Then the brain flips the image and we see right side up. =)
Fri: We came up with the hypothesis: Light is like a slinkey. Online there is an experiment where a slinkey is pulsed with electricity and a more dense slinkey is also pulsed with electricity. The more dense slinkey had slower and small waves than the dense slinkey. The dense slinkey also reflected and refracted when it met the less dense slnkey. (Did that make any sense? I'm not good with explaining it... T_T) XD
We also filled in a triangular prism and how light would reflect and refract off it.
Why is this important?
This is important so we get the how light works and we don't fail the evil science test! JK
This important because we should know how we see and if anyone wants to become and eye doctor or something they should know this stuff. =)
Yup that's it! XD
